A Cambridge playground, closed off since it was built more than a year ago, is expected to open by the beginning of next month.

Cambridge City Council officers and representatives from developer, Miller Homes have met to finalise the opening of the park at Woodhead Drive.

Cambridge City Councillor, Mike Pitt who represents King's Hedges has been pushing officers and developers to resolve the issue.

He said: "Unfortunately Miller are unable to open the site before the handover, but both the council staff and Miller are hopeful of a quick completion."

"I hope that the playground will provide a great deal of fun for today's youngsters and future generations."
